As a medical student and now a practicing doctor and certified clinical innovator, Stuart has continually identified opportunities to improve patient care and treatments through integration of technology.
In 2018 he joined NHS England's Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, a development initiative that allowed him to access the right tools, knowledge, and expertise, forming the Athos team and bringing his ideas to life.
He plans for Athos to be an ethics driven business that delivers a more efficient health system while vastly improving quality for patients.
Pharmaceutical Industry Advisor
Claire has worked in the healthcare industry for 22 years with a wealth of experience in highly competitive global markets. She is focused on accelerating growth, driving efficiency and maximising enterprise value.
She has operated in multiple board roles, including her role as Vice President at Johnson & Johnson Europe and CEO of Nelsons.
Claire believes in creating values-driven, agile and diverse teams and has played an active role in sponsoring women in leadership. She was drawn to Athos’ potential to make a difference to the quality-of-life of many.
Med Tech Industry Advisor
Jackie has been in the healthcare industry for 30 years, 28 of which with Medtronic. For the last 10 years Jackie was Vice President of Medtronic UK/Ireland and responsible for an organisation of 700+ people.
She has held a number of external posts alongside her role in Medtronic including Chair of BCIA (British Cardiovascular Intervention Association) and a council member of BCIS (British Cardiovascular Intervention Society).
Jackie is passionate about authentic leadership and is a strong believer that culture drives results. Jackie has been recognised for her contribution to diversity and inclusion within Medtronic.
Pharmaceutical Engineering Lead
Barny is a Lecturer in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Sussex. His research interests are focused towards synthesising and understanding new supramolecular, functional materials.
The design of these novel materials is guided by the desire to solve important real-world problems. His interdisciplinary research covers many areas including: healable supramolecular materials, novel hydrogels for water purification, sensors for the detection of volatile explosives and new polymers for drug delivery.
Creative Director
Amelia is a practicing doctor based in London. Amelia channels her experiences in film, art curating, writing and graphic design into creative ideas for Athos. In addition to her medical degree she has a BMedSc (hons) and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine.
She is passionate about planetary health and medical justice. Amelia recognises that the climate and ecological emergency will drastically alter the world in which healthcare operates, and believes that innovative technology has a key role to play in tackling these challenges.
Financial Advisor
Anton works in the venture capital industry with a focus on medical and technology companies. He is a partner at Steed Capital, a mentor and lecturer in finance to the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme and runs the in-house VC for a UK tech company.
He was formerly an officer in the British Army. Anton has a law degree from Oxford University, an MBA from INSEAD, a Commission from the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, and is a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Statecraft, a governance think-tank.
